Antique
Reproduction Saddle Bags
Our
best antique reproduction Saddle Bags also known as Cheyenne
Pockets. Handmade the old fashion way these bags will certainly
fool your friends. They'll think you just came from the local
gun show and snagged a pair of originals.
Made
from bark tanned leather they are tooled just like the originals
we took the pattern from. Manufactured during the 1870's these
were commonly found on saddles from the likes of F.A. Meanea,
J.S. Collins and Visalia saddlery. We took out pattern from
a pair on display at the Museum of the American West (formerly
the Autry Museum of Western Heritage)
They measure 8 1/2 inches wide by 9 inches high by 3 1/2 inches
deep. The gusset is made of matching heavy duty chap leather
and allow these bags to expand from almost flat to over three
inches deep. The hardware is solid brass and antiqued to a rustic
looking plum brown that is exclusive to M. Shelhart & Co.
Available in several finishes call for details.
